Thieves stole car keys from a house in Aston near Nantwich and made off in the owner’s vehicle.

Police are now warning other householders to be on their guard and not leave car keys in view by a front door after the incident yesterday (May 16).

Offenders struck at a house on Sandy Lane, Aston, between 3.30am and 10.30am.

A vehicle was taken from the driveway which was a black VW Polo.

Nick Jarvis, PCSO for Nantwich Rural, said: “If you have any information related to this incident please call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 65491.

“We advise that all vehicle keys are hidden from view and not left on tables or next to your front door.”
