Malbank students - Theo Paphitis and Ryman enterprise challenge

Students at Malbank School and Sixth Form College in Nantwich have taken part in a real life business challenge aimed at developing skills and raising aspirations of young people.

The Ryman National Enterprise Challenge staff worked with Year 9 students for a day developing their ideas and business acumen.

Ryman, a high street and online stationary supplier of businesses and school, are chaired by TV Dragon and entrepreneur Theo Paphitis.

The challenge asked Malbank pupils to create, brand and market a new marketing campaign for their yearly “Back to School” period.

Company founder Ben Dyer said: “It’s vitally important young people develop key employability skills that are needed for the world of work.

“This year, more than 50,000 students will take part in the challenge and we are delighted with the standard of work that has been produced.”

The winners of the challenge will represent the school at the National Finals due to be held at The International Conference Centre in Telford on July 4.

They will now be working hard on their pitch and presentation.

There are more than 1,500 people expected at this year’s finals event, with celebrities and business leaders due to attend.

Challenge Ambassador, Ryman Chairman and former TV Dragon Theo Paphitis, will also be in attendance.

Paphitis said: “School shouldn’t just be about academia.

“Enterprise gives you an understanding of the real world, and that’s so important.”

The Ryman National Enterprise Challenge is still taking bookings for this academic year and have now opened up a calendar for bookings for the next academic year.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
