Some of the 120 students involved in the production practise for the curtain call

Students from Brine Leas School took to the stage at The Lyceum this week with their production of High School Musical, writes Claire Faulkner.

More than 100 students from years 7 to 12 took part on stage, in the band and as back stage crew.

And they all did a great job.

High School Musical follows the blossoming relationship between Troy, who was played by Adam Whitehead and Gabriella, played by Lucy Bevan.

Both gave great performances and worked brilliantly together.

Emma Cragg was wonderful as Sharpay, as was Benjamin Wilkinson who played Ryan.

The musical numbers Stick to the Status Quo and High School Musical Megamix were great.

However, my favourite numbers in the show were Getcha Head in the Game, for the wonderful choreography and the audition section which had some very funny moments.

Well done to everyone from Brine Leas who was involved.

It’s not easy to produce and perform such a well-known musical on stage.

You should all be proud of what you’ve achieved.

I look forward to seeing what you’ll show us next year.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
