Hankey - altercation nantwich - County Lines charged and in court

A man has been charged in connection with an incident which left a police officer injured after being dragged along a road by a vehicle.

The incident involved an off duty police officer at the Shell garage on Holmes Chapel Road, in Middlewich, on January 12.

The officer was left with serious but not life threatening injuries.

John Anthony Smith, 34, of Moss Drive, Middlewich, has been charged with dangerous driving, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and making off without payment.

He will appear at Crewe Magistrates Court on February 14.
