A woman in her 60s has been badly burned in a house fire in Crewe.

The incident happened at about 4pm yesterday (December 14) at a property on Eadie Grove, in the Bradfield Road area of the town.

Cheshire Fire Service crews from Nantwich and Crewe were called out to tackle the blaze, but was found to be out when they arrived.

The woman was found to have suffered burns to her upper body.

She was taken by paramedics to a specialist burns unit at Whiston Hospital in Merseyside for treatment.

It’s not clear how the fire started.
