A big-hearted Stapeley pupil and her friend have helped to raise more than £150 and collected goods for homeless people.
Daisy Williamson and Mia Meahan teamed up to help raise funds and items for those at the Homeless Centre in Crewe.
And Daisy, who goes to Pear Tree Primary School, was honoured for her efforts when the school welcomed Bernard from the centre to present her with an acknowledgement and certificate.
Both girls, aged nine, live in Winterley and Mia goes to the Dingle school in Haslington.
Daisy’s proud mum Adella Williamson said: “Daisy and Mia came up with the idea of raising money through cake sales and ‘guess how many sweets’ in order to buy necessities for the homeless.
“They came up with the idea themselves after watching some fund raising on TV. They gave the necessities and money donation on Friday last week.
“These included things like deodorant, face wipes, tissues, water etc.
“All ideas they came up with themselves. They managed to raise enough money to make up 30 bags as well as a cash donation.
“I am so proud of Daisy and Mia and how kind and thoughtful they are.
“She is already asking what she can do next to help others.
“We are really grateful to all who bought cakes, played guess the sweets and made donations!”
