Thousands of food lovers young and old packed in to Nantwich over the last three days to enjoy the town’s biggest Food Festival yet.

Organisers, volunteers, local businesses and many more pulled together to lay on a three-day food spectacular at various sites around the town.

From the official launch on Friday afternoon with opera singer Denise Leigh, to Bake Off Queen Candice Brown’s packed show on Sunday, the festival offered a huge variety of shows, performances, entertainment and stalls.

Organisers, who were blessed with good weather for most of the weekend, believe around 40,000 visitors  flocked in to the town centre during the three days.

Marquees were set up on Love Lane, the Bowling Green, town square and various other smaller sites, with scores of exhibitors from local and regional outlets.

Many had ‘sold out’ signs on their stalls at the end of Friday and Saturday, and had to return with new stock the following day.

A spokesperson for the Festival committee said: “It was another superb Food Festival.

“We felt proud to be part of an organisation which is so highly regarded not only by the local community but by the traders who come from far and wide.

“We’ve received so many comments, including ‘you have organised so much for visitors’ and ‘I can’t believe how good this festival is’.

“It really shows off the town to visitors and encourages them to return.”

We’ve put together a picture special to remember the 2017 festival, thanks to these great images provided by Nantwich Events Photography and Nantwichnews readers.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
