Villagers in Church Minshull will host a two-day ‘Minshull Madness’ festival, featuring headline soul act The Screaming Beavers.
The event, planned for September 1 and 2, kicks off with a concert by one of England’s finest soul bands at 7.30pm.
The band will be supported by Nantwich musician, Jim Farmer.
This will be followed by ‘Minshull Madness’ family fun day at 4.30pm on Saturday September 2.
The Screaming Beavers will be performing on The Badger Inn’s field in Church Minshull.
With a 4-piece brass section and two female vocalists, the band promises a dynamic performance, featuring memorable Motown and disco hits from the 60s and 70s from artists including Aretha Franklin, Hot Chocolate and Tina Turner.
Kerry Bannon, of Church Minshull’s events committee CM Vision, said: “When the band performed in the village last year, it was an incredible evening
and we expect it to be another night to remember.
“Their authentic soul sound and infectious energy will have everyone up and dancing.
“We just hope people book their tickets early to avoid disappointment as they’re already selling out fast.”
Jim Farmer is well-known for playing in and around Nantwich venues as a solo artist and as part of the King’s Pistol band.
The family fun day on September 2 will have a mad-hatter’s theme, and feature sporting activities for all the family, from egg and spoon races and welly wanging through to the infamous tug of war.
The Badger Inn will be provide food and refreshments and there will also be a tombola and face painting.
Kerry added: “We launched Minshull Madness a few years’ ago to help bring the community together and it has grown from strength-to-strength.
“We expect most of the village to come out to support the event, together with their friends and family.
“We may be a small village, but we have a huge sense of community spirit and this comes to the fore during Minshull Madness when fun and laughter is the order of the day.”
