talent - Sept 2017 comedy night acts

Promoters of the ‘The Very Best In Stand Up’ in Nantwich are promising another line-up of top talent when it returns in September.

The new season of live comedy kicks off for another season on September 1.

The opening night will star Kiwi comic Jarred Christmas, and making her debut is 3ft 6in Canadian Tanya Lee Davis, known as the ‘Ferrari of comedy’.

It will also feature Carl Donnelly, a regular on Mock The Week and Stand Up For The Week. And headlining will be fans’ favourite Gary Delaney.

Shows will once again run monthly at Nantwich Civic Hall, and there will be a New Year’s Eve show as well.

Now in their 7th year, Civic Comedy promoters have managed to attract household names to visit Nantwich for just £10 a ticket.

Since 2010, comedy fans have seen the likes of Josh Widdicombe, Jim Jeffries, Chris Ramsey, Greg Davies, Justin Moorhouse, Zoe Lyons, Miles Jupp, Paul Sinha and even Jimmy Cricket perform live.

Promoter Jon Mitchell said: “Our show in Nantwich is really well established now and acts always tell us what a good reputation it has on the circuit.

“We used to have to work really hard to convince these comedians to come to a sleepy Cheshire market town when they’re getting offers from big clubs in Manchester and Birmingham!

“This is all because of our audience. The reception the acts get is fantastic and now people want to come here. It’s amazing.”

The new season promises even more with new faces scheduled to appear along with firm fan favourites.

Tickets are already selling for the first show back on September 1.

These are available from the Civic Hall in person, the Civic Hall website and www.civiccomedy.co.uk

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
