Shavington Co-op raises £2,500 for local causes

Big-hearted staff and customers of Shavington Co-op have raised thousands for charities.

More than £2,500 was donated, with £828 being given to the Wingate Special Children’s Trust in Wrenbury.

The store and its customers teamed up as part of the company’s Local Community Fund initiative to support local causes.

For just a £1 membership, Co-op members get 1% back for a local community cause and 5% back for them when they choose Co-op products and services.

Jo Young, fundraising and marketing manager at The Wingate Centre, said: “We’re absolutely delighted at the support that is offered to us, not just by the staff at the Co-op Shavington, but the incredibly kind and generous people who use the store.”

The store raised a total of £2,599 with other funds being donated to Shine Bright Foundation and Cheshire Buddies.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
