My World Graduation 2017

Forty pupils from Crewe and Nantwich primary schools enjoyed a taste of what it is like to graduate.

The youngsters attended an amazing graduation ceremony at Reaseheath College in Nantwich.

It was the culmination of a six-week My World project, designed and delivered by Open Doors2 Ltd, a community development company.

The project gave children their first taste of the world of employment through a series of interactive workshops.

These were hosted by Barclays Bank at Radbroke Hall, Bentley Motors, Brightstar, Cheshire Constabulary HQ, Reaseheath College and Tatton Park.

Children learned about the variety of future job roles available to them.

They gained important life skills like teamwork, resilience and co-operation while raising their self-esteem and improving social skills.

The graduation event allowed pupils to showcase what they had learned through team and school presentations to invited guests.

The children, in graduation robes, were presented with a certificate by Natalie James, an advanced practitioner in animal management at Reaseheath College.

Teacher Marco Cura said: “The children worked so hard, both individually and in teams, and have clearly enjoyed every minute of the project.

“It was wonderful to have witnessed 40 children come together and form marvellous teams by the final week.

“It was also lovely that parents came along to share the celebration.

“It has been a great honour to accompany the children on their journey and see just how much progress they have made.”

Natalie James said: “Seeing young people showing such confidence and dedication holds real promise for the future, and hopefully the pupils themselves will have gained transferrable skills.

“While attending our workshop the pupils asked some great questions and showed real interest in the potential of working with animals.

“The graduation was the perfect end to a very successful project and Reaseheath College was a very proud host.

“We hope this is the start of an on-going professional relationship, meeting the wonderful young minds who may just be our future students!”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
