A teenage boy found dead close to the A500 in Nantwich, has been named as Scott Madden-Nevitt.

Scott, aged 16, went missing from his home in Wistaston on Monday November 28.

His body was found by police officers in a field close to the Shavington bypass on the morning of Tuesday November 29.

Officers and the force helicopter had been searching for the youngster, a pupil at Shavington Academy.

The  body was discovered in a field between the Nantwich roundabout and the junction for Jack Mills Way.

Shavington Academy cancelled lessons on November 29 and brought in counsellors to help pupils and staff come to terms with the death.

The teenager’s funeral is due to be held at Crewe Crematorium on Thursday, December 15.

Cheshire Police have not confirmed the cause of death.
