Axis Arts Centre, the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Crewe, opens its Autumn Season with one of the hits of last year’s Edinburgh Fringe.

Vincent Gambini’s “This is not a Magic Show” is part performance-lecture, part deconstructed showbiz, and part really clever magic tricks.

And his show, which opens at the Manchester Metropolitan University Cheshire campus venue, promises to be a captivating piece of theatre.

Magician Gambini (pictured) tells stories about close-up magic, and performs tricks in an hour-long performance.

There are two performances on October 4 at 7pm and 8.30pm.

Additional performances are on October 15 at Winsford Library and October 16 at Great Budworth Village Hall, as part of a tour organised in collaboration with Cheshire Rural Touring Arts.

All shows at Crewe Axis Arts Centre are open to the public.

“This is not a magic show” is the first of nine productions, two exhibitions and two writer events scheduled in the next two months.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
