south cheshire college deli and restaurant AA rosette award

Staff and students at South Cheshire College’s Academy restaurant and deli have scooped an AA Rosette award.

The venue has been awarded a highly commended AA College Rosette and named a Centre of Excellence for Service.

The AA inspection judged the facility for its service, hospitality and cuisine.

The training restaurant is based on the ground floor of the college’s Crewe campus.

It is designed on Manchester’s famous Northern Quarter in its facilities and décor.

A qualified AA Hotel and Restaurant inspector dined before meeting students, staff and employers during the accreditation visit.

Assessors from People 1st inspected it on the same day, measuring quality across ten different categories.

The restaurant and deli was praised by People 1st for its links with employers.

Students have progressed from college into employment at companies the college has formed links with – including Brunning & Price, Residence in Nantwich, and for celebrity chef Luke Thomas.

Collaboration with local companies was also recognised, including Nantwich firm Rodney Demsem Wines, Nantwich Town Football Club, and Marks and Spencer Money through a partnership with The Little Food Company.

Mike Carney, group executive chef at Brunning & Price, said: “We have only positive and lovely things to report from our work with South Cheshire College’s Academy Restaurant from day one to now.

“Their facilities are truly impressive along with their stance of embracing technology and evolving as the industry needs it.

“However, the best bit is the way they support their learners and us as employers and the ease at which this all takes place.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
