Andy White, Newcastle Town friendly

Nantwich Town turned in a strong second half performance against neighbours Newcastle Town to run out 6-1 victors, writes Jack Jones.

The Dabbers went in at the break 1-0 down after a disjointed performance with players missing and new systems being tested.

But a half time roasting saw them fired up, and they ran in six goals in a dominant second half display.

Andy White (pictured) scored twice, with Sean Cooke, Ibou Touray and Osebi Abadaki (2) bagging the other goals.

Phil Parkinson named his strongest XI, with players missing through injury and holidays.

Trialist Godwin Abadaki started up front alongside Theo Stair.

Sean Cooke, Sam Hall and Wayne Riley made up the midfield, with a back five of Ibou Touray, Curtis Jones, Mat Bailey, Ben Harrison and Andy White.

Dave Parton once again started in goal.

Both sides had half chances as the first half progressed, the unmarked Godwin Obadaki’s header going closest for Nantwich.

Lewis Bergin had Newcastle’s best chance, shooting just over from 25 yards after he wasn’t closed down quickly.

Nantwich struggled to find fluency in the first half and were punished just before half time by Lee Cropper.

A ball over the top sent Tom Urwin away and his first time cross found Cropper who showed quick feet to work space and bent a fine shot past Parton.

The Dabbers came out unchanged for the second half.

And the players repaid the manager’s faith as they equalised inside a minute.

White found space on the right and hit a sweet low drive past Aaron Dillon to draw the Dabbers level.

Five minutes later they were ahead. Good work from Godwin Abadaki on the left saw him lift a cross to the far post for the onrushing White to head home his second.

On 56 minutes it was 3-1, Sean Cooke found space and unleashed a 25 yard screamer in off the post.

Cooke had the next chance as he hit a scuffed effort straight at Dillon, while Touray put a ball across the six yard area, but nobody was there to touch it in.

With 25 minutes to go, Cooke was replaced by Jonny Kapend, and Theo Stair came off for Osebi Abadaki.

Osebi was then involved in the Dabbers’ fourth goal, as his cross found Touray, who slotted in his first Nantwich goal.

Touray, White, Riley and Godwin Abadaki were then replaced by Declan Poole, Glen Matthews, Ryan Jackson and one time Nantwich striker Dave Walker.

With 10 minutes to go, Jackson made a powerful run into the Newcastle half and found Walker on the right.

He found Matthews at the far post, but his shot could only hit the post.

It fell to Osebi, who finished via a deflection off Matthews.

Nantwich completed the rout in the 90th minute as Walker raced clear down the right.

He picked out Osebi, who grabbed his second of the game to round off a commanding second 45 minutes from the Dabbers.

It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
