film festival edward timpson helps launch the event

MP Edward Timpson and Nantwich Mayor Cllr Andrew Martin helped launch the town’s first film festival.

The event has been organised in association with the Nantwich Film Club and will be based at Nantwich Civic Hall.

Film fans gathered for the opening film showing last night (May 20), which was ‘Brooklyn’.

This will be followed by ‘The Rocket’ and ‘Theeb’ today (May 21), and then the screening of ‘The Visitor’ and ‘Cinema Paradiso’ will be shown tomorrow (May 22).

The film club is an enthusiast run club and arranges screenings at the Civic Hall on a 224” screen once a month.

They screen a variety of independent, classic and foreign Language films.

You can find them on Facebook/nantwichfilmclub and Twitter @filmnantwich

There is also talk of showing a short film from a competition that was held at South Cheshire College to encourage young film makers.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
