A teenage girl arrested in connection with an assault on a 14-year-old boy at Nantwich Pool, has been released on police bail.

The 15-year-old girl, from Crewe, was arrested by Cheshire Police on Saturday (April 30).

It follows a video which went viral on social media of an incident at the back of the swimming baths on Wall Lane, Nantwich.

The incident is believed to have taken place at about 4.20pm.

The victim, who lives in Nantwich, suffered minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.

A police spokesman said the 15-year-old has been released on bail until May 22.

Chief Superintendent Serena Kennedy, from Cheshire Police, said at the weekend: “Investigations in relation to this incident are on-going and officers are currently following a number of lines of enquiry.

“We are aware that there were a large number of people in the area at the time this incident occurred and I am keen to speak to them as part of this investigation.

“I am also aware that this incident was filmed by a number of people and I ask anyone with any footage of the incident to come forward.”

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 364 of 1/5/2016.
