‘The Way We See It’ is an exhibition featuring mixed media work of Cheshire’s Creative Art Group at Nantwich Museum until May 7.
Creative Art Group was established over 15 years ago and involves a large group of mixed experience artists tutored by Ann Roach.
It is dedicated to encouraging greater public appreciation of and engagement in the visual arts.
The diversity of the group is reflected in the wide variety of work on display.
Admission to the exhibition is free and the artwork is available for sale at very reasonable prices.
Meanwhile, World Circus Day on Saturday April 16 is being celebrated at the museum with an illustrated talk by Professor Ray Johnson MBE of the Staffordshire Film Archive entitled: ‘Philip Astley – Circus Comes Full Circle.’
Astley was born in Newcastle-under-Lyme and developed a new entertainment experience including music, performing animals, acrobats and clowns presented in a ring – the foundation of circus.
The talk will be illustrated with historical visual documents, archive film footage and a virtual cavalcade of circus memorabilia.
The talk begins at 2.30pm. Tickets are available from the museum: £3.50 (£2.50, Museum Members.) Booking is strongly recommended.
