Defeat at Buxton - Nantwich Town boss Phil Parkinson against Blyth Spartans

Nantwich Town continue their hectic league schedule with an away trip to promotion-chasing Darlington.

And Dabbers boss Phil Parkinson has admitted any outside chance of Nantwich reaching the Evo-Stik Premier League play offs have now ended.

It comes after the Dabbers twice threw away a two-goal lead at home to Rushall Olympic on Tuesday night at the Weaver Stadium.

Nantwich were 2-0 up inside 22 minutes thanks to goals by Liam Shotton and Elliot Osborne.

Jake Heath pulled one back for Rushall on 70 minutes, but seven minutes later Matt Bell restored Nantwich’s two-goal advantage and looked to have sealed the three points.

However, Luke Benbow earned Rushall a penalty on 84 minutes which he coolly despatched.

And in the final minute, Nantwich’s defence was sleeping as Benbow cashed in to fire home the leveller.

Parkinson said throwing away the lead “epitomised” their season in defence, and admitted his side failed to cope with Benbow in the second half.

That disappointment followed a 1-1 draw away at Mickleover Sports on Saturday, leaving Nantwich too far behind the top five places in tenth spot on 63 points.

However, Nantwich’s performance tonight at second-placed Darlington could have a huge bearing on who wins the title.

Darlington are seven points behind leaders Blyth, but with three games in hand and a superior goal difference.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
