The Rotary Club of Nantwich has donated another £1,200 to local good causes, bringing the total so far this year to nearly £3,000.
A cheque for £700 was donated by The Rotary Club of Nantwich President Rod Stokes to Donna Louise Children’s Hospice Relationship Manager Lisa Courtney.
Lisa said: “We couldn’t provide the wonderful services for the children and their families without the support of organisations such as the Rotary Club.
“Although the hospice is located in Trentham, we support families in any way they need us including in the home and community.
“And we cover Staffordshire and South and East Cheshire, so we are very grateful to the Rotary Club of Nantwich for their support.”
Local charity worker and fundraiser Steven Bebe, scorer for the Nantwich Cricket Club, who suffers from Muscular Dystrophy, gave a talk to the Rotary Club of Nantwich explaining what his new electric wheelchair means to him.
Steven said: “I am very thankful to the Rotary Club of Nantwich for their cheque for £500, which along with many other donations, has given me the independence that only an electric wheelchair can offer to someone with my condition.
“Without such kindness, I would struggle to maintain my independence, so this means a great deal to me.”
Rod Stokes added: “As a result of our annual Christmas float visit to the streets of Nantwich, we are able to support both our local charities such as Donna Louise Children’s Hospice and amazing individuals like Steven Bebe.
“This money has come from the people of Nantwich and is going back to the people of Nantwich.”

I have find memories of the Late 70s and early 80s when, as a Rotaracters, my friends and I spent many happy Xmases collecting on the Rotary float.
My wife and I always look forward to the arrival of the float. Xmas isn’t Xmas without it.
Nice to see where the money is going ☺
