Bobcat Billy's to play Bank Stage at Nantwich Jazz festival

This year’s Nantwich Jazz, Blues and Music Festival features a new stage featuring a host of live bands during the five-day event.

The festival, now in its 20th year, takes places across Nantwich this Easter starting today (March 24) to Easter Monday March 28.

The new Bank Stage, situated behind NatWest bank, will feature bands from the Friday to Sunday, including a bar and food court in a covered marquee.

This year’s festival headliners include Big Country, The Revolutionaries, Aynsley Lister, Red Butler, FM, The Jive Aces, Nearly Dan, The Swing Commanders, and The Long Lost Blues Brothers.

The stage hosts The John Colins Band on Friday night from 9pm to 11pm, a performance of classic tunes from the likes of the Rolling Stones, Radiohead and REM.

Saturday’s line-up starts from 3pm and runs through to 11pm, including The Alex McKown Band, Two Faced Tom and The Bootleg Boys and The Lol Goodman Band.

The day’s performances are brought to a close by local indie band Turbulence, playing covers from artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Adele, The Stone Roses and Ed Sheeran.

On Sunday, Bank Stage starts with Swingology from midday, followed by Bobcat Willy’s Moonshine Mission (pictured, above), The Charmaine Baines Quartet, and With Bob On Our Side.

The evening finishes with hard rocking heavy blues band Steamroller from 8pm, playing covers from rock giants like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy and AC/DC.

There are a number of headline shows throughout the weekend at Nantwich Civic Hall, The Crown and The Studio.

But the festival has many more performances in smaller venues including St Mary’s Church, The Malbank, Harrisons, The Talbot, The White Horse, Residence, The Shakespeare, The Bowling Green, The Red Cow, The Union and Nantwich Methodist Church.

There will also be free outdoor concerts in Nantwich Square featuring the Red Stripe Band among many more artists.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
