Pete Temmen, Nantwich Town groundsman, with Nigel Clough

Nantwich Town groundsman Pete Temmen is in the running for the FA Groundsmen of the year award for the second season running.

Pete, who won the award in 2015, has been shortlisted again for his excellent work on the Weaver Stadium pitch this season.

In August, Pete travelled down to St George’s Park in Burton-upon-Trent where he was named as the best groundsman in the Northern Premier League.

He was also the only groundsman to make the national list from the Northern Premier League.

Nantwich Town chairman Tony Davison said: “On behalf of everyone at Nantwich Town, may I congratulate Pete in achieving this nomination for the second year running.

“Having won the overall award in 2015 to be nominated again is something to be proud of.

“We have on the best pitches in non-league football, which allows us to play good attacking football with the ball on the ground.

“Pete has played a massive part in allowing us to do that.”

Each club will have a team from the FA visit to inspect the pitches.

Pete and the other competitors will then head down to Burton and to St George’s Park for the awards in July 2016.

He will be up against his counterparts from Blyth Spartans, Hyde United, Loughborough Dynamo and Stocksbridge Park Steels for the award.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
