Nantwich Museum is to upgrade its heating and lighting systems thanks to grant funding.

The museum, on Pillory Street, has received funds from Nantwich Town Council, Cheshire East Council and WREN’s FCC Community Action Fund.

The money will replace existing halogen lighting and upgrade existing heating system with greener and more efficient technologies.

It uses less energy and is more economical to run.

The new LED lighting will also enable improved displays and exhibitions and a reduced risk of causing damage, while a new heating system will provide a warmer environment for staff and volunteers.

Museum manager Denise Courcoux (pictured) welcomed the improved visitor experience offered by the upgrades as well as the prospect of economies offered by the more efficient technologies.

She said: “This project will provide a real boost to the people working in and visiting the museum.

“It’s fantastic that the museum has been awarded this money and we’re really looking forward to the improvements which will be made over the next few months.

“The museum is very grateful for the support of the project’s three funders.”

Richard Smith, WREN grant manager for Cheshire, added: “It’s always nice to see something we have funded start to take shape.

“We’re delighted to be supporting such a worthwhile project and look forward to it benefitting all users and visitors to the museum.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
