Foundations store, new look outer down

Two Nantwich shop owners are holding a Care Day to support women who have had breast cancer.

Mums Kate Hinton and Karen Flannery, owners of Foundations lingerie store on Hospital Street, are employing a specialist fitter for the day on October 28.

Kate and Karen are keen to stage the event as part of breast awareness month after they spent thousands of pounds refurbishing the shop after taking it over in April.

And they are celebrating the re-opening with a 20% promotion of all bras in aid of
breast awareness month, which will culminate in the Care Day on October 28.

new stock, FoundationsKate said: “We are having a specialist fitter from Anita to fit, measure and support ladies with their prosthesis and pocketed bras.

“We are holding a raffle in aid of breast awareness to raise money where we and other business owners have donated prizes, worth more £100.”

Kate and Karen both gave up their careers as primary school teachers to change career.

“I have a young family, a boy 4 and a girl 2, so we bought the business to be more flexible around our young families,” said Kate.

“I’m from a family with background in the retail business!”

In fact, just across the road Kate’s parents own the View-Jepsons menswear store.

Her brother and husband also work there, making it a real family affair.

Karen is originally from Aberdeen but has been in Cheshire since she was 17.

They splashed out more than £5,000 on internal refurbishments in Foundations, using all local tradespeople including Andrew Matthews (painter/decorator), James Morris (woodwork), Warmund House (flooring) and Jenny Edwards (fabric).

“We’re still raising funds for breast awareness and have already got more than £100,” Kate added.

“We are hoping to raise even more before the end of the month.”

We have 20% off all bras *excluding Pour Moi? and a 25% sale on ranges in nightwear, swimwear, hosiery and lingerie.

Our Care Day event is Wednesday October 28, 10am-4pm, for mastectomy and lumpectomy ladies needing help.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
