Nantwich Town 7-1 Ramsbottom United

Nantwich Town were in seventh heaven after blowing bottom club Ramsbottom United off the Weaver Stadium park.

Phil Parkinson’s free-scoring Dabbers put seven of the best past their hapless opponents to move into second place in Evo-Stik Premier Division.

Nantwich have now scored 41 goals in just 12 league matches – one of the highest goals totals of any side in league or non league across the UK.

Matty Kosylo was again the star of the show, bagging a hat-trick and proving unplayable at times.

He started the rout after just 20 seconds – one of the fastest goals in the league this season.

Kosylo latched on to a fine cross from Lewis Short down the left to slot the ball easily past the keeper.

And in the 12th minute it was 2-0 when Josh Hancock powered forward to slide in Kosylo for his second.

Short and Hancock then linked up in the 39th minute, and as Hancock drew the keeper out, he laid it square for Short to tap in.

It was Hancock’s turn to get on scoresheet three minutes into the second half, beating the defence to a Short cross to power home for 4-0.

Three minutes later Kosylo completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot after Steve Jones was upended in the box by a shell-shocked Ramsbottom defence.

The game won, Kosylo was substituted for Liam Shotton.

Several minutes later, Nantwich were awarded a second penalty when Elliot Osbourne played in Jones who was again brought down in the box.

With Kosylo off the pitch, Osbourne stepped up to convert the spot-kick for 6-0.

The visitors scored a deserved consolation for their efforts in the 74th minute through Sam Grimshaw, aided by Nantwich keeper Terry Smith’s fumble.

But Jones was awarded for his fine work-rate, capping the night off with Nantwich’s seventh in the 88th minute after Hancock played him in with a slide-rule pass.

Almost 250 fans watched the demolition last night (September 29), and on this performance those crowds should soon be growing rapidly.

It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
