HMIC crime recording - Police officers in Operation Hatay in Cheshire

More than 100 people have been arrested as part of Operation Hatay 5 in Cheshire.

The final day of the crackdown saw teams across the county working to locate and arrest outstanding offenders.

The operation, which led to 102 arrests, targeted those who failed to attend warrants, section 18 assault, sexual assault, theft and breach of restraining orders.

Supt Pete Crowcroft, of Cheshire Police, said: “A significant number of wanted people were detained during the course of the week, which is reassuring news for their victims.

“Each time we carry out this operation we are reminded what a difference it makes to the recovery process for victims and for justice.

“The timely and persistent arrest of wanted offenders has always been important and a priority for any police force but Hatay brings together different skills, techniques and resources.

“While the force has undergone significant change, with the introduction of the Local Policing Units, we want to reassure the public those who evade justice will always be pursued regardless of our own restructures and victims will always be a priority.

“Hatay reinforces our commitment to victims and justice.

“It will run again throughout the year to keep suspects who evade justice on the back foot, and continually looking over their shoulder wondering if they will be next.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
