Businesses across South Cheshire came together for afternoon tea – and raised £230 for The Wingate Children’s Centre in Nantwich!
The County Group, Handelsbanken, Afford Bond and Hibberts Solicitors invited more than 30 guests to enjoy a multi-award winning afternoon tea at the quirky Davenports Tea Rooms in Northwich.
The tearooms are themed around Alice in Wonderland and display murals on walls from various scenes in the story, including the legendary Mad Hatters Tea Party.
Davenport’s tearooms have featured on BBC Breakfast TV and have won a long list of awards including Tea Guilds prestigious Top Tea Place and the Tastes of Cheshire Awards.
Other onsite facilities include a farm shop, florist, clothing boutique and spa.
The four local businesses treated their guests to afternoon tea and also collected a wonderful array of raffle prizes.
Money raised was donated to The Wingate Centre in Wrenbury, which has been offering children and young adults with physical and learning disabilities and those from disadvantaged homes the chance to have a holiday.
Lesley Garratt, HR director at The County Group, said: “County always try and support local charities and we’re proud to be part of this lovely afternoon treat for our guests.
“We know how important the money we raised for the centre is.”
Business people who attended included Camille Renaudon of Hibberts Solicitors; Sarah Fern of Afford Bond; Sarah Young of Handelsbanken; Lesley Garratt of The County Group.
