Defeat at Buxton - Nantwich Town boss Phil Parkinson against Blyth Spartans

Nantwich Town manager Phil Parkinson said his Dabbers side were a joy to watch in their final game of the 2014-15 campaign.

Parkinson admired his side’s performance at the Weaver Stadium as they drew 1-1 with play-off contenders Ilkeston.

A goal from Steve Jones brought the Dabbers level after the Robins had taken an early lead.

And Nantwich were the dominant team throughout.

Parkinson said: “I thought we were the team in the ascendency, I feel like a broken record because we are dominating games.

“But I am really disappointed we haven’t won the game.

“I wouldn’t say we have had real clear cut chances.

“But we have created chances I expected us to score.

“Steve Jones scoring again, showing his quality again. He hit a real thunderbolt there like he did at Barwell.

“It’s good we stayed up.

It’s great we are playing a certain brand of football, certainly the first half it was a pleasure to watch from my opinion, I hope everyone else has the same.

“If they can do that for 90 minutes then the majority of the squad would be playing at a higher level.”

Parkinson praised the whole team, but reserved special praise for midfielders Elliot Osborne (pictured, below) and Harry Clayton.

“I thought Elliot was superb and I don’t know how he didn’t get man of the match even though Andy White was excellent.

“Elliot ran the show in the first half.

The whole midfield was sheer quality on the ball.

“Harry Clayton, some of his runs were fantastic and some of his hold up play was the influence in the first half.

“I brought Liam Shotton on only to shake things up and Liam nearly scored.

“Young Brandon got his chance today. He got a little bit longer, 15 or 20 minutes, so it was good to see it.

“He did well and was not overawed against a very good full back there.

He didn’t look out of place.”

The backline held firm after going behind in the second minute on and it was something Parkinson was pleased with.

He said: “A few of our lads came in saying they haven’t had a real go and I said they can’t if you have got the ball. That’s a credit to them.

“
They can’t do what they wanted to do because we had the ball for a long period of time.

“But you could see that was frustrating them.

“Our midfielders have got the quality, especially on a good pitch like ours. They can dominate games, our full backs getting on.”

Captain Mark Jones again filled in at right back and the boss hinted a positional change might be on the cards.

He said: “Mark might have found a new position in right back because he and Andy White look formidable.

“Everybody contributed, the lads on the bench who got on, the lads who didn’t keep the other lads on their toes, because I expect them not be happy when they are not playing.”

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
