Hundreds of residents in Nantwich have been with little or no water after a burst water main was found.

United Utilities engineers have worked through the night to find and repair the burst at a pipe on Audlem Road.

The company said repairs are taking longer than normal due to access and traffic management on the busy road in and out of Nantwich

A spokesman said: “For health and safety reasons our team of engineers are having to put traffic management in place for repairs to continue.

“This is being done to enable our engineers to work safely.

“Unfortunately this means we may take a little longer to fix the burst water pipe than we expected.

“We’re sorry for the continued disruption to your water supply and we’ll try and get things back to normal as soon as we can.”

The leak was spotted and first reported at around 8pm last night (February 19).

Many households in the area were reporting no water or just a trickle.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
