Nantwich and Crewe residents can have their say on plans to open a new University Technical College in South Cheshire.
A six-week consultation is now underway in the hope the college, named Crewe Engineering and Design UTC, will open in September 2016.
It aims to offer courses for 14-18 year olds seeking a pathway to employment and further education.
Courses it will offer include a mix of academic and practical, with input from local employers and a partner university.
Bentley Motors, OSL Rail, Manchester Metropolitan University, Jacobs Engineering, Cheshire East Council, Siemens, Bosch, Chevron Racing, Optical 3D, Unipart Logistics, and South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce will drive the collaboration.
The six-week period gives parents, students and businesses a chance to find out more information and ask questions of key representatives from the college.
Information will be added to the Crewe Engineering and Design UTC website, with a chance to comment on social media channels as well.
Georgina Harris, Head of School of Engineering at Manchester Metropolitan University, said: “This consultation is a key next stage in bringing the Crewe Engineering and Design UTC to Crewe in 2016.
“The college will play a major role in the local community and we want to share the updates we have with them, but also ask for their valuable contributions to ensure it will become the success we fully anticipate.
“The UTC, as well as being closely aligned with the local community, will boost skills, education and employability, for the benefit of individuals and many organisations in Crewe and further afield.”
There is a public Open Day at Crewe Alexandra Football Club on Wednesday February 4 from 2pm to 7pm.
Representatives and business partners will be there to update visitors, discuss plans and answer questions.
