School children from Nantwich wowed the town’s Mayor when they flooded her with entries to a Christmas card competition.
Cllr Christine Farrall asked youngsters to put their creativity into action and design this year’s card.
She wanted something different for her card, which will go out to organisations and business people.
So she invited the town’s senior schools, Malbank and Brine Leas, to come up with a selection of imaginative pictures depicting Nantwich.
She judged the competition and then surprised winner Emily Ford, from Year 8, in her classroom at Malbank School with the first of the printed cards.
As well as her card being circulated around the town, Emily has won £50 of book tokens.
The art department of Malbank was also given £50 of tokens and runner up Lucy Smith collected a £10 book token.
Cllr Christine Farrall said: “I had a terrific amount of entries which were all to such a high standard making judging very difficult.
“I would like to thank everyone for their hard work and I’m delighted with the winning card.”
