fire on Western Avenue, Nantwich

A man and woman were rescued from a house fire in Nantwich today (October 27)

The blaze broke out in a property on Western Avenue, near Brine Leas School in Nantwich, at about 4.30pm.

Crews from Nantwich and Crewe were called out to the blaze which started on the first floor of the house.

Two hose reels were used to extinguish the flames on the first floor and three large fans were used to remove smoke from the property.

One man and a woman were rescued by firefighters and an ambulance was requested.

It’s not clear  how badly they were injured.

Police also attended the scene.

A fire investigation is underway to find the cause.
