St Davids Lifeboat Station with new lifeboat

The RNLI Lifejam Charity Festival takes place in Audlem near Nantwich this weekend.

The musical event, organised by Overwater Marina near Nantwich, aims to help raise funds for the RNLI St David’s Boat House Appeal.

Local bands, solo artists and entertainers will take to the stage on Saturday (October 18) providing a variety of music including rock, pop, folk, jazz or blues.

Artists include The Duffey Boys, Folkwits, Heidi Browne, Roydan Styles, Darren Poyzer, Crystal Ships, Jack Marshall Band, Mike Chant and Mark Stevens.

The Lord Combermere in Audlem is hosting the event with Hollow Floor Studios providing and setting up the sound systems.

Musicians are giving their time for free to support the service and local businesses have pledged support with adverts in the event’s programme sold on the day.

There will be bar refreshments, and local cafes and takeaways will be open for business.

St David’s RNLI lifeboat station was established in 1869 and covers 550 square miles of sea from Skomer Island to Porthgain and halfway across the Irish Sea.

To protect the boat, improve and continue service of saving lives, the RNLI is building a larger station at St David’s in the region of £8.5 million which comes from donations.
