The Phones 4U outlet in Nantwich is to re-open again this week as an EE store.

The shop, on Pepper Street, was among hundreds to close when the company went into administration earlier this month.

But EE struck a £2.5 million deal to buy 58 of the stores around the UK, including the Nantwich one.

The deal has safeguarded four full-time jobs at the shop, which is set to re-open on Thursday (October 2).

Store manager Grahame Edwards said: “We are keeping all the old staff and are really looking forward to the re opening on Thursday.

“All the staff are keeping their jobs… it’s a great relief to us all.

“We found out last Monday but have been training through the week ready for the launch this Thursday.

“We are all really excited and are eager to embark on a new and exciting journey. Hopefully, our customers will return straight back.”

The 58 stores and 359 employees have been transferred to EE with immediate effect.

“We can confirm we have agreed with the Phones 4U administrator to purchase 58 stores, safeguarding 359 jobs, subject to court approval,” an EE spokesperson said.

The news follows Vodafone’s announcement on Friday that it has agreed to acquire 140 Phones 4U stores and re-employ their 887 staff.

“We are absolutely delighted to have completed this further disposal of 58 Phones 4u stores, which will both recover value for secured creditors and save 359 jobs,” said Rob Hunt, joint administrator and PwC partner.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
