A second talk in a series accompanying the “Nantwich and the First World War” exhibition will be staged today (September 3) at 3pm.
Bill Pearson, of Reaseheath College, will speak at Nantwich Museum on Food Production around the time of World War 1.
Great Britain was not self sufficient in food in the years leading up to the war.
The talk will examine the changes in farming in Cheshire around the time of World War 1, and explore what happened at home when men and horses had gone to the battlefields.
The talk will take place in the Millennium Gallery on the ground floor of the museum.
Tickets cost £3 (museum members £2) and are available from the museum shop.
The exhibition is being financed by a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) grant of £3,800 covering the cost of the display materials, interactive elements, a programme of events and accompanying literature.
Meanwhile Nantwich Museum trustees have thanked those who contributed to make its flagday in the town a success.
More than £200 was collected in support of the Trust which runs the museum on Pillory Street, where admission is free.
An Information Point in the town square provided details of museum activities and an opportunity to join the Museum Trust. There was also a tombola.
