Students from Malbank Sixth Form College in Nantwich will be going to some of the most prestigious universities in the UK and abroad.

Lizzie Short scored 480 UCAS points and is going to study English at York with A*s in Product Design and English Literature where she didn’t drop a single mark.

This confirms the exceptional results in this area after the department was rated the 2nd most successful in the country last year.

Similarly 70% of students got an A* or A grade in Business Studies.

Year 12 students also bagged high numbers of top AS grades to lay the foundations for successful university applications next year.

Vicky Lewis gained 5 A grades in English Literature, French, History, Chemistry and Critical Thinking whilst Jack Hayward-Cooke got A grades in Chemistry, Maths, Music and Physics.

Rebecca Gudgion, who joined the college from Tarporley also scored 3 As and a B.

Headteacher Jeannette Walker said: “We are thrilled our students have done so well.

“The variety of courses and destinations is truly amazing and a testament to all of the hard work by students and staff put in over the last two years.”

Director of Sixth Form John Harrison, who has just completed his first year in the post, added: “It is hugely gratifying to see the impact of the extra opportunities that our enrichment programme provides.

“We know from our students that these all round achievements have contributed to making Malbank graduates so attractive to so many universities and employers.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
