Chair of the Museum Trust, Nick Dyer (left), receives the cheque from Tim Ashworth as Museum Manager, Kate Dobson, looks on

The proceeds of a “Thanks for the Memory” dementia tribute concert was shared between Nantwich Museum and the Alzheimer’s Society.

The event, hosted by Cranage Hall Hotel and Conference Centre, featured music from the 1930s to the 1960s, played by the Dave Egerton Band.

A cheque for £640 was presented by Tim Ashcroft, musical director of the band, to chair of the museum trust, Nick Dyer.

The group meets at the museum on the first Monday of every month and is open to anyone living with dementia, their carers, family and friends.

The donation will help the museum to further its work with dementia.

“Thanks for the Memory” was launched in January as an organisation dedicated to helping those affected by dementia.

It was the inspiration of Tim Ashcroft, who was conscious of the power of music to bring back memories of the past.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
