More than 50 children from Nantwich and Crewe attended a fundraising event held at Playworld in Shavington – with pyjamas on and ready to party!
The event, organised by Nantwich mum-of-two Caroline Lowther (pictured), raised £240 for the Children’s Ward at Leighton Hospital.
Caroline is close to the ward as her youngest daughter Olivia has been based there since she was born last November.
And earlier this year, she launched a toy appeal and hundreds of toys were donated to the children who have to spend long periods of time in hospital.
She said: “I wanted to do something to say thank you for the excellent care that the children’s ward provided for my baby.”
Party-goers enjoyed meeting Peppa Pig, a raffle, face painting, story telling and balloon modelling.
They also used the new-look indoor Playworld equipment.
Caroline added special thanks to Chloe and Mandy and the team at Playworld, Martine Loveless, Vicky Jones, Beccy from Glutch and Slugs and all those who came to support the event.
Molly; How nice that when you obviously have some problems of your own, you think about the hospital, your sister and your Mum. You brightened my day, so love and best wishes to you.
Hi, I was discharged from leighton, ward 17 about a week ago after spending 9 months there on & off, I spent so much time there & was admitted so frequently that it affected my family, especially my younger sister, she is 4 years old & as you can imagne found sitting at y bed side everyday very boring but loved all the toys in the play room, thank you so much for launching the toy appeal, without you my mum would have found it double as hard! Thank you xx
