A Nantwich burglary victim who called police to his house was then arrested after forgetting to hide cannabis plants he was growing!

Officers stumbled across the cannabis when they were called to Albert Street, Nantwich.

A man, in his 40s, was arrested but later cautioned as the plants were found to be for personal use.

Officers continue to investigate a burglary at the property, which happened in the early hours of Saturday (March 29).

A Nantwich police spokesman said: “On Saturday morning a burglary was reported at Albert Street that had occurred in the early hours.

“Police attended to investigate and discovered several cannabis plants growing. A man in his 40s was arrested.

“The plants were for his own use and he subsequently received a caution for cultivation of cannabis.

“We are continuing to investigate the burglary.”
