exhibition half term Nantwich Museum, flagday, stages First World War talks

Nantwich Museum will host a “drop-in day” for visitors to help promote the forthcoming First World War exhibition.

The Pillory Street venue is keen to get more members of the public involved in helping put the exhibition together.

So staff are urging visitors to drop-in between 10.45am and noon tomorrow (March 15).

Admission to the museum is free and refreshments will be available.

Local information, artefacts and memories are sought on all aspects of community life in the town including schools, the economy, factories, local farms, recruitment to the military, the role of women, and more.

Staff are keen to receive medals, photographs, National Registration Certificates, WW1 embroidered silk postcards and other items which relate to the Great War.

The museum secured a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) grant of £3,800 to finance the exhibition.

Called Nantwich and the First World War – the impact of war on a market town, the exhibition will open on Saturday July 19.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
