Alex Meaney

Midfield maestro Alex Meaney has returned to the Weaver Stadium to sign for a second spell with Nantwich Town.

The 21-year-old originally joined Nantwich on a month’s loan from Stockport County last February.

He made just three appearances, and will be hoping to impress in his second spell with the Dabbers.

Meaney, a product of the Myerscough College Academy in Lancashire, joined Stockport County from Lancaster City in September 2012.

The former England Colleges captain left Edgeley Park in August 2013, signing for Chorley for whom he has netted once this season.

Meanwhile, Nantwich Town teenager Peter Green is being tipped as a star of the future after breaking into the first team squad.

The talented 17-year-old made his senior debut from the bench at AFC Fylde, and is the latest promising youngster to progress through the Nantwich youth set-up.

The former Brine Leas High student honed his skills at the Crewe Alex Soccer Centre as a young boy.

Liverpool-born Green, who now studies at South Cheshire College, said: “I’ve always played football, starting competitively at a young age with a Sunday League club, playing at the Alex Soccer Centre.

“I began playing in the age group one year above my age and have done so until moving to Nantwich Town FC around the age of 11/12, where I have progressed into the U18s youth team and recently into the first team after a training session in which we played against them.

“Until around a year ago I was very into athletics, representing Cheshire in the 100m, explaining why I’ve mostly played an attacking role in football, more so on the right wing.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
