Blyth FA Cup - Nantwich Town's Weaver Stadium, pre-season games, community football

Heavy rain has put paid to Nantwich Town’s hopes of hosting Blyth Spartans at the Weaver Stadium.

Match officials called the game off after a pitch inspection at the ground at 8am today (February 1).

Recent rain had left the pitch waterlogged – and left Danny Johnson’s Dabbers high and dry for a third consecutive game.

Their previous two Evo-Stik Premier League matches were also postponed by the weather.

Last weekend the clash away at FC United was called off because of a waterlogged pitch at Bury’s Gigg Lane.

Before that, the home game with Rushall Olympic was also postponed.

That match at FC United has now been rescheduled for Tuesday February 18.

Meanwhile, the league has brought forward Nantwich’s trip to Frickley Athletic.

The Dabbers will now make the trip to South Elmsall on Saturday February 22, instead of April 12.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
