Crewe and Nantwich Ramblers enjoyed a trip to Llangollen in Wales where they tackled the Berwyn Range and Horseshoe Pass.

Members started from Berwyn and climbed steadily up Maesyrychen Mountain to the Berwyn Quarry.

They stopped for lunch and time to admire the views across the Welsh landscape.

The route then descended down to the Horseshoe Pass where the road was crossed carefully as there were plenty of Sunday drivers out and about.

Following the Eglwyseg River the route continued along the valley passing the remains of Valle Crucis Abbey.

A stop was made for afternoon tea at a very conveniently constructed seating area which was very welcome to the walkers.

The walk then continued along the Shropshire Union Canal until reaching Llangollen.

A debriefing was held in The Corn Mill overlooking the River Dee with a few local beverages to end the day.

The club holds trips every two weeks throughout the year and on some Thursday evenings in the summer.

Members of all ages are welcome. Three walks are available to choose from on each trip – six, nine and 12 miles.

Travel is by coach departing from Crewe Library at 8.30am with pick-ups at Wells Green, former Earl of Crewe pub and Nantwich bus atation.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
