Hundreds of boxing fans donned their black ties to enjoy the 34th annual dinner and boxing evening at Nantwich Civic Hall.

Punters enjoyed nine ABA bouts between young fighters from amateur clubs across Cheshire and Merseyside.

The event, organised by Nantwich Cricket Club, was compered by veteran Sky Sports commentator John Gwynne.

There was also an auction of football and cricket memorabilia, including Manchester Utd and Liverpool shirts signed by Wayne Rooney and Steve Gerrard respectively and bat signed by ex-England cricketer Alec Stewart.

There was also a Stoke City shirt signed by the whole squad on auction.

Crewe Alexandra manager and assistant Steve Davis and Neil Baker were also among the audience.

Funds raised at the event will help maintain the cricket club at Whitehouse Lane and develop its youth and junior sections

Robert Sproston, chairman of Nantwich Cricket Club, said: “Our junior section is thriving with another successful year, increased numbers and success on the field.

“Boys and girls all enjoy playing cricket and backing our junior team coaches and managers is very important for the future of the club.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
