Crewe & Nantwich Ramblers

More than 40 members of the Crewe and Nantwich Ramblers club braved the rain for their latest outing to Shropshire.

The group enjoyed a trip and walk around Church Stretton, which lies in the Shropshire Hills “Area Of Natural Beauty”.

Starting the walk at Little Stretton, south of Church Stretton, walkers climbed steadily to the summit of Ragleth Hill.

The walk then followed the Jack Myton Way joining the Marches Way at Chelmick and continued into Hope Bowdler.

Leaving Hope Bowdler, they climbed Hope Bowdler Hill heading for the Battle Stones on Willstone Hill where a wild and windy climb awaited them.

After the Battle Stones, walkers started the descent to Willstone then turning West passed by Caer Caradoc Hill and Three Fingers Rock eventually arriving at Church Stretton.

A debrief was held at the the well-known Kings Arms Pub where the Crewe and Nantwich ramblers dried out before setting off for home.

This weekend (October 27), club members were due to head for Rainow near Macclesfield, for three walks from of six, nine and 12 miles.

Rambles are held every two weeks on Sundays. New members of all ages are welcome.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
