Burglars broke into a house on a Nantwich estate and then made off with two cars parked on the driveway.

The offenders struck at a property on Chater Drive, on the Pear Tree Fields estate in Stapeley.

The burglars also stole a set of keys to the property during the incident overnight (October 23-24)

Nantwich police officers have today been issuing letters warning residents of the incident and to make sure properties are securely locked.

Insp Dave Smithers, head of Nantwich Neighbourhood Policing Unit, said: “We have had patrols out putting leaflets through doors.

“This was a burglary but the offenders took the keys and stole the vehicles parked on the drive.

“This is a very unusual occurrence in Nantwich, and there is nothing to suggest it will be repeated so we don’t want to cause alarm.

“But we are sending out letters to offer general crime prevention advice as a result.”

Detectives from Crewe CID are investigating the incident.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
