Acton Amateur Operatic Society is presenting its latest production of Me and My Girl at The Lyceum Theatre this week.

And this is a fun-packed show with a great cast and amazing choreography.

Steve Turnbull is just wonderful as the main lead ‘Bill Snibson’, an ordinary guy from Lambeth who finds out he is due to inherit a fortune.

Cast opposite is Charlotte Platt as ‘Sally Smith’.

Both have great voices and looked like they truly belong on the stage.

What really makes this production of ‘Me and My Girl’ is the comedy.

The show is full of laughter and warmth which radiates through the cast and into the audience.

Watch out for the wonderful comic timing from Darren Thornhill as ‘The Hon Gerald Balingbroke’ and Cecil Walker as ‘Sir Jasper Tring’.

There are some great musical numbers in this show, and the director Sheryl Haydock-Howorth has utilised the entire cast to give their absolute best performance.

My particular favourite was ‘You Would if You Could’, a number between ‘Bill’ and ‘Lady Jacqueline Carstone’, played by Bethany Froud.

Of course I left the theatre like the majority of the audience, hoping that no one would notice me doing ‘The Lambeth Walk’. Oi!

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
