Parkinson's UK - Nantwich Civic Hall, cost falls

Nantwich Town councillors have agreed a deal to bring more events to town – including a “boy band” tribute during the World Cup!

The council has joined with Cheshire-based Warble Entertainment to offer more varied entertainment at Nantwich Civic Hall.

From 1960s shows to the boy band tribute evening, councillors hope the deal will make better use of the venue which the town council has taken over from Cheshire East Council.

David Thomas, general manager of Nantwich Civic Hall, said: “We’re pleased to be able to announce additional entertainment to the Civic Hall with emphasis on having a wide range to cater for all age groups and tastes.

“We also wanted to aim for a great value ticket price and with a high calibre of entertainment, so we’re thrilled with the entertainment that our pairing with Warble has brought.”

The firm, based on Nantwich Road in Crewe, was nominated in the final three for “Small Business of the Year” at the Cheshire Business Awards 2013.

“It’s great news for the area,” said Warble owner Tracey Warren.

“The Civic Hall is a real cornerstone of our community and has been for years so to be asked to develop the events diary for it is an exciting prospect.

“We’ve managed to book some great nights for late 2013 and next year and we’re hoping the great ticket price proves popular for local people looking for a quality assured night out without breaking the bank.”

Cllr Arthur Moran, Lead Nantwich Town Councillor on Civic Hall events, said: “We have made great progress at the Civic Hall since the town council started to run the venue.

“This is another step in making Nantwich Civic Hall the place to visit in the area for a good night’s entertainment at a reasonable price and we welcome working with Warble Entertainment.”

The new line-up of events kicks off on December 7 with the “Ultimate 80’s Xmas Party”, featuring a Madonna tribute, followed by an 80’s band performance featuring music from the decade.

2014 will see several shows at the Civic including a 60s show, which will feature classic hits from the decade along with a Beatles tribute band.

There will also be a 90s night and a “boy band” night during the World Cup Finals that should ease the pain of “Football Widows” with tributes from Westlife, Boyzone and Take That followed by a DJ at most shows.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
