Nantwich Players

By Claire Faulkner
Nantwich Players haved kicked off their new season of productions this week with ‘Rough Justice’.

This courtroom drama tells the story of a father on trial of murdering his severely handicapped child.

Written by Terrence Frisby and directed by Simon Porter, ‘Rough Justice’ is a powerful and thought provoking tale.

Full of drama, it is often emotional and raises many questions about society and the British legal system.

This production is first class, one of the best I have seen The Players produce.

The set design and construction gives a fabulous and realistic background for the cast, who give a brilliant performance.

‘James Highwood’, the man standing accused of murdering his own child, is played by Eamon Goodfellow, who gives a strong and sometimes emotional performance.

Cast opposite was Michaela Warrilow as the prosecutor ‘Margaret Casely’ who gave one of the best performances I have ever seen on stage.

Over the last 12 months The Nantwich Players have had many successful and award winning plays.

I’m sure that this production will be another award winner. I’m really looking forward to the new season, and I’m sure that The Players won’t let me down.

‘Rough Justice’ runs at The Players Theatre, Love Lane, Nantwich until September 14.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

  1. The few remaining tickets for Rough Justice are now available at the Theatre (not TIC) during performances, though Thursday and Friday are sold out. Come along to Winston on the Run on the 15th…should be fun. See NP website for details. http://Www.nantwichplayers.com
