Nantwich Litter Group has benefited from the Societies Spectacular event after recruiting new volunteers.

Group members were encouraged by the public’s response to their stall which showed pictures featuring volunteers at work and typical litter problems.

They also displayed pictures supplied by RSPCA Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre, on London Road, showing graphic illustrations of the harm caused to domestic and wildlife animals by thoughtless disposal of rubbish.

Children enjoyed using grabbers to try their hand at capturing and bagging typical items of litter.

Several residents spoke to volunteers of their individual efforts in keeping their areas tidy.

Recently around 25 volunteers were fielded for an evening “pick” to assist Nantwich in Bloom in final preparations before judging.

This was followed by a rest and welcome refreshments at The Boot and Shoe in Hospital Street.

The next “Group Pick” will be on Wednesday August 28 at 10am.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
